Helping you navigate childbirth and beyond

When pregnant, we spend months waiting for childbirth but don’t often know what to expect when we get to the hospital.

I want to help take the anxiety out of the unknown, to demystify what happens in the hospital, and help you feel more prepared for your birth and the decisions you’ll make.

Hi, I’m Cara.

I am a mother of two and I have my doctorate in nursing. I have worked as a nurse at the bedside on the antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery units. I have helped hundreds of women on their pregnancy journeys since first becoming a nurse in 2011. I have worked in women’s health in academic, private, and community hospitals. I also have taught maternity care to both nurses and nursing students.

I am passionate about women’s health and know how confusing the healthcare system can be. While getting my doctorate, I focused on the evaluation of web-based labor and birth information and so I also know how confusing finding information on the internet can be. I want to help you and your partner navigate the birthing process to help make your birth more enjoyable.

What I do

Labor and Delivery Consultation and Preparation

Walk you through the whole experience—from entering the hospital to when you leave after giving birth.

Introduce you to terms you may hear, decisions you may need to make, and questions you may want to ask.

Provide you with a safe space to ask any questions you might have and provide evidence-based answers.

Let’s talk!

Sign up for a session where I will walk you and your partner through what to expect at the hospital. Before we speak, I’ll have you fill out a short questionnaire to let me know what specific questions or concerns you may have so I can be sure to address those. If you don’t know what your concerns are, that’s ok! I’ve got you and will walk you through the whole process. I’ve been in your shoes and also helped hundreds of birthing people on their journey as well.
