Hi! My name is Cara and I am a mother and a doctorally prepared nurse who specializes in women’s health, education, and healthcare systems. I’ve worked in many hospitals in multiple states and, while helping hundreds of pregnant women and families bring children into this world, I noticed there was a lack of information being provided to prepare people on what to expect when giving birth in the hospital.

Often having these conversations when people came into the hospital to have their baby was too late. They’d already have developed their plan and been thinking about it, sometimes for months. There is often a lot of anxiety surrounding what happens in the hospital and the language healthcare providers use and I want to help you and your partner feel less stress and more confident in your birthing experience.

Why me?

Young woman standing in front of a presentation slide about web-based labor and birth information for pregnant women planning to give birth in a hospital, in a classroom or lecture hall.
A woman sitting on a bed holding a baby with a young girl leaning in to kiss the baby on the forehead, all three smiling warmly.
